Here are some tips and best practices for taking and uploading photos/scans of documents that will meet our image requirements especially for identification documents:

  • Your files must be in jpg, jpeg or png formats.

  • Avoid using your camera’s flashlights while taking pictures of your Identification (ID) documents to avoid unclear images.

  • Take the photo directly above the document on a flat surface.

  • Do not obstruct the ID with an object or your fingers.

  • Use a background of a contrasting colour to the document(s).

  • All 4 corners of the document(s) must visibly appear in the photo with allowable around the 4 corners of your document(s).

  • Take the photo horizontally for documents and vertically for selfies.

  • The image should not be blurred and all text on the document should be legible.

  • Document size should be no smaller than 0.5 MB and no larger than 5 MB.

  • Image quality settings should be set to the highest quality (Sharpness of at least 50 and DPI of at least 450).
